Testimony to Health Care Reform Implementation Council
In October 2010, IWF provided testimony to the Governor’s Health Care Reform Implementation Council, in their second hearing in Peoria, Illinois. This hearing focused on the topic of workforce needs of the healthcare industry as our state begins to implement the federal health care reforms outlined in Affordable Care Act passed earlier this year.
IWF State Policy Priorities
The Illinois Works for the Future campaign promotes these policy changes that will help Illinois a strong workforce grow our economy, including the implementation of the 21st Century Workforce Development Fund and expansion of bridge educational programs.

Robert Wordlaw, Executive Director of Chicago Jobs Council, reaches out to the U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Ways & Means to voice support for the American Jobs, Closing Tax Loopholes and Preventing Outsourcing Act (HR 4213), that includes provisions to extend unemployment and COBRA health insurance benefits, and fiscal relief to states to preserve critical health services and save the jobs of teachers, firefighters, and police officers.
